WEST CARTHAGE A local developer presented three site plan applications to the village planning board Wednesday, one of which could have a tremendous impact on the area if it comes to fruition.
Michael L. Lundy, owner of Lundy Development and Property Management LLC, brought before the board plans for development of the Johnson property on Broad Street across from the intersection of Franklin Street as well as the construction of a discount retail store and along the east side of the street, a bank.
The development of the Johnson property could include up to eight commercial properties along the road frontage with 390 to 450 units of residential housing in the middle section and possibly more apartment buildings or townhouses in the rear of the 72-acre parcel.
Planning Board Chairman Ronald J. Blinebry gave Mr. Lundy a laundry list of items to address in the plans for all three applications such as lighting, grading of the properties and buffering. He informed Mr. Lundy of a new Planning Board policy to have fire department representatives review plans for new construction to ensue ease of providing fire protection to structures.
The chairman tabled a decision on the matter until Mr. Lundy comes back with the revisions.
