Jamie L. Thorne, 22, who spent 125 days in jail earlier this year for violating protection orders, was locked up again Saturday because she was in the same dwelling with her daughters, ages 20 months and 13 months, according to Watertown police.

Mrs. Thorne was arrested shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday on a felony criminal contempt charge and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was being detained in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building to await arraignment Monday in City Court.

Meanwhile, her husband, Brian M. Thorne, 25, who held protection orders that prompted her arrest in January and again in March, tried to hide her Saturday morning in their apartment at 1620 Huntington St., police said. He was charged with obstructing governmental administration, and was released to await his arraignment.

Mrs. Thorne was sentenced June 4 in Jefferson County Court to time served and five years’ probation after she pleaded guilty to first- and second-degree counts of criminal contempt for two incidents. In January, she punched her husband in the face, and in March she made threatening phone calls to him.

An order of protection issued in County Court ordered her to stay away from her children, but city police received information that prompted a patrol to go to Mr. Thorne’s apartment to check on the welfare of the children. The girls’ birth dates are listed as Jan. 1, 2010, and June 22, 2011.

Mr. Thorne tried to stop officers from entering the apartment while helping his wife to hide, police said. He was arrested first, then she was taken into custody about three minutes later, according to police reports.
