PARISHVILLE - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department investigators said a six-year-old Brasher-area girl drowned Friday evening at the Allens Falls Reservoir in the town of Parishville.

Deputies said they received a call of a possible drowning at 6:30 p.m. Friday at 21 Rosenbarker Drive at the Allens Falls Reservoir. Sheriff’s deputies, Parishville Fire and Rescue, Colton Rescue and the St. Lawrence County Underwater Recovery Team responded to the scene and pulled Angel Sochia, 6, of 29 County Route 53, Brasher Falls, from the water.

Deputies said the child was unresponsive when she was pulled from the water. She was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Coroner June Wood also responded to the accident scene. The child’s death was ruled to be an accidental drowning.
