The City Council is engaged in a four-day executive session to interview four preferred candidates for the vacant city manager position.
On Friday, council members closed their meeting to discuss strategy for interviews with Dominic Mazza, a consultant from the Bonadio Group of Syracuse, the firm leading the city manager search.
Today, the council will interview each candidate and select two finalists, who will be called-back on Sunday. If the schedule is followed, the council could vote to hire a new city manager at its Aug. 13 meeting.
Council members have previously expressed a desire to review a list of all applicants and seek out local candidates. As of Friday, the council had not released its short list of interviewees.
