EDWARDS An Edwards man accused of reporting fake details to hospital staff after an injury was arrested by state police at 4 p.m. Monday.
Gary K. Finley, 21, of Main Street, was charged with third-degree false reporting, a misdemeanor.
While being interviewed at E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur on Sunday, Mr. Finley allegedly told officers that Alora K. Ryan had injured herself by falling off the back of a three-wheeler. Officers continued to investigate and discovered that, while traveling south SundaY on Brown Falls Road in the town of Fine, Ms. Ryan actually leaned against the door of the 2003 Chevy Impala she and Mr. Finley were traveling in, then fell out and sustained minor injuries, troopers said.
Mr. Finley was issued an appearance ticket.
