ALEXANDRIA BAY A community 1-mile run and walk will be held in the village on August 18 to honor Pfc. Jack T. Sweet, a 10th Mountain Division soldier killed in Iraq when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in February 2008.
Registration will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post #904, 9 Rock St. The race will start at 10 a.m.
Donations will be accepted at the event to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project or can be directly submitted to www.runforthefallen.org.
