Slic Network Solutions will replace a section of damaged cable at midnight Wednesday, which will interrupt service for customers in Star Lake, Fine and Newton Falls.

The maintenance is necessary to replace a fiber line that was damaged in an Aug. 5 storm. The storm knocked down several trees that broke electric lines that burned Slic’s fiber casing on County Route 27A. The burnt fiber presents the possibility of future breakage that would require an emergency repair.
