MALONE — A Franklin County Jail inmate was arrested by state police at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Adam J. Baublitz, 23, of County Route 55, Brasher Falls, was charged with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.

Police say Mr. Baublitz entered a Brasher home in early March and took a 50-caliber muzzleloader, which like any firearm is illegal for a convicted felon to possess, as well as $150 in Canadian currency.

Mr. Baublitz was already incarcerated on a first-degree burglary charge and was sentenced to serve an additional two months in jail for a separate conviction in late June.
