ST. FELICIAN, Que - Winning two qualifying heats and the finals at the St. Felicien, Quebec Regatta on July 21-22, Ogdensburgs Leanna Richards continued her charge toward a high points championship in the 1.5 Litre class.
Richards pilotted Lil Crush to 96 points on the weekend to pull within seven points (364-357) of season-long leader Michael Tremblay. At St. Felicien Tremblay and his Timothee Special led one qualifying heat and placed second to Richards in two heats and the finals.
Another Ogdensburg racer Joe Sovie is ranked ninth in the 350 Hydro and the Grand Prix Class. Sovie, driving Bad Influence, has scored 159 points in the Grand Prix class and tallied a season-high 66 at St. Felicien by taking fourth in the finals and second in in a qualifying heat. Sovie did not race in the 350 Hydro class at St. Felicien after scoring 75 points at the Valleyfield, Que. Regatta
Brockvilles Bert Henderson in Steeler led the Grand Prix point standings after scoring 96 points at St. Felicien where he led the final. Kent Henderson of Brockville, Ont. holds a one-point lead in the 2.5 Litre class (353-352) over Sylvain Maheu who won the finals at St. Felicien.
