Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, is inviting business owners to invite him to tour their operations.
"Bill has toured more than 150 businesses since being elected to office," spokesman Sean Magers says in an email.
Mr. Owens, who was first elected in November 2009, is facing Republican Matt Doheny of Watertown on Nov. 6. Mr. Doheny has been on a tour of businesses in the 21st Congressional District with the goal of hitting 50 in 50 days, which his campaign says he'll meet and surpass.
I have to guess that the candidates crack about nine million "you didn't build that, someone else made that happen" jokes per visit. Just a rough estimate.
