POTSDAM — The SUNY Potsdam men’s and women’s hockey teams will call other venues home this season as the school works on the Maxcy Hall in an $8.7 million renovation project.

SUNY Potsdam’s men will play their home games at the Massena Arena and the women’s team will play their home games at Clarkson University’s Cheel Arena.

These will be the first major changes to the facility since it was built in 1972. Included will be a new high efficiency refrigeration system, ice surface, boards, glass and expanded team benches. Permanent individual seating will replace the lower section of bleachers and new bleachers will be installed in the upper level. The fan capacity will expand to 1,124.

Also new locker rooms and coaching offices will be built, and a press box will be constructed above the team benches.
