On August 18, The Society of the United Helpers honored their earliest residents with a reception Aug. 18 at the Freight House in Ogdensburg. At the luncheon, guests were able to visit with longtime friends and reminisce about their experiences when they lived at the United Helpers Orphanage, which operated from 1898-1959. If you or somebody you know was an early resident of United Helpers, please contact the Society of the United Helpers Development Office at 393-3074, extension 230, or visit www.unitedhelpers.org. Seated are early residents Ron Collins, Ralph Hardy and Zelpha LaFlair. In back are Pauline Curran, Diane Baxter, Nancy Cole, Joan Shove, William Poole, Judy Hutchinson and David Bice.
