Rep. Pete Sessions, the chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, will campaign with Matt Doheny in Saratoga County on Sunday.
The visit should help Mr. Doheny combat concerns that the national parties and super-political action committees are about to pull up stakes in the north country's congressional race. Mr. Doheny took some bad headlines yesterday and today with poll results that showed him down 13 points to Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, in the Nov. 6 race. Speaker John Boehner has also come to the north country to help out Mr. Doheny, and he mentioned the race at the Republican National Convention as a winnable New York seat.
Mr. Doheny and Mr. Sessions, of Texas, will open Mr. Doheny's Saratoga County campaign office at 199 Milton Ave, Ballston Spa.
