Lightning and thunderstorms prevented several games to play a complete 80 minutes in Fridays Northern Conference Soccer action.
In NAC West Girls play, Lisbon blanked Edwards-Knox 1-0, Hermon-DeKalb shut out Morristown 4-0 and Hammond rolled past Clifton-Fine 7-0. In NAC Central Girls play, Massena topped Canton 1-0 while OFA and Malone tied 1-1. In action in the Harrisville tournament, Parishville-Hopkinton beat the host Pirates 4-1.
In NAC West Boys Division play, Morristown edged Hermon-DeKalb 2-1.
In Central Division play, Salmon River and Gouverneur and Massena and Canton played to scoreless ties. In Harrisville Tournament action, Watertown IHC downed Edwards-Knox 6-1. Harrisville and Clifton-Fine will play a NAC West League game at a later time.
GIRLS SOCCER
Lisbon 1, Edwards-Knox 0: In a game shortened by weather in the second half, Maddie Vine scored in the 52nd minute of play from Beth Crowley. Jackie Sovie made two saves in the shutout and Mikayla Bacon stopped four shots for Edwards-Knox.
Hermon-DeKalb 4, Morristown 0: Morgan Scott generated two first half unassisted goals and Kasey ODonnell added two early second half goals both unassisted as the Demons won a weather shorten game. Rhys Bryant collected five saves for the shutout.
Karissa Bertrand made 14 saves for Morristown.
Hammond 7, Clifton-Fine 0: Alyssa Crosby struck just 30 seconds into the game for the Red Devils and Courtney Bova cashed three times to spark Hammonds win. Bova connected from Taylor Bowman and then unassited. Bowman made it 4-0 from Crosby.Closing out the scoring were Crosby from Macy Wilson, Lauren Workman from Bowman and Bova and Bova unassisted.
Cassie Whalen made five saves in the shutout. Lindsey Johnson collected 17 saves for the Eagles.
P-H 4, Harrisville 1: The Panthers opened to a 3-0 lead and never looked back reaching the finals of the Harrisville Tournament.
Kodie Perkins scored in the second minute from Brianna Hayes. Olivia Collins made it 2-0 from Emily Sloan in the 8th minute. Hayes finished off a Sloan pass for a 3-0 lead in the 31st minute before Kathleen Coloney scored unassisted in the 34th for the Pirates to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Sloan finished the scoring in the second half unassisted for the winners.
Marlee Wilson made one save in the victory and Samantha Rounds handled five saves for Harrisville.
BOYS SOCCER
Morristown 2, Hermon-DeKalb 1: The Rockets (2-0) rallied from a 1-0 deficit. Macaulay Snell opened scoring for the Demons in the 5th minute of play from Steve Gilbert. Dakota Marshall answered unassisted in the 18th for 1-1.
Ryan Volmer converted from Marshall in the 45th for the Rockets game-winner.
Karter VanArnam made two saves in the first half sharing the victory with Luke King (no saves). Zach Robinson collected eight saves for the Demons.
Watertown IHC 6, Edwards-Knox 1: Jason Reape registered a pair of goals for the Cavaliers.
Derek Clark scored on an assist from Jesse Bullock for Edwards-Knox (0-2).
