Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, wrote an editorial that appeared this afternoon in The Hill, a D.C. publication.

"After many months of bipartisan work in the House and Senate, the failure of House leadership to allow a vote on the farm bill before its September 30 expiration is yet another disappointing example of politicians putting politics over people," Mr. Owens writes.

The farm bill will revert back to a decades-old law when the Sept. 30 expiration comes. That's not going to be good for dairy farmers, according to Mr. Owens, a member of the House Agriculture Committee.
