St. Marguerite D’Youville Academy is hosting its annual Fall Festival this weekend with events scheduled to include the whole family.

The festival, a fundraiser for the private, Catholic elementary school, will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 721 Hasbrouck St.

“I want them to have a good time,” said Principal Celina Burns said of attendees to the festival.

Festivities begin at 8 p.m. today at the Knights of Columbus with dancing and a cash bar.

Carl Perkins will play the guitar and sing, and Matt George is slated to be the event’s DJ.

Mrs. Burns said the event is a time for the whole community to come together.

On Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m., there will be bounce houses, sumo wrestling and other games open to the public.

Saturday will see kids take to the soccer fields at 9 a.m. in a tournament that will last most of the day. There will be three divisions based on age groups.

Additionally, adults will be able to play in a special league on Sunday at 9 a.m.

Forms to register for the soccer tournament can be picked up at the academy, obtained by emailing cburns@smdacademy.org or reserved by calling the academy at 393-0165.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday a “Zumbathon” hosted by Beth Tombililo will be held inside the Knights of Columbus at a cost of $5 per person.

On Sunday at 1 p.m. a youth basketball tournament will be held, and Julie’s Dance Studio will perform at 2 p.m.
