CANTON — Jill M. Denny, 54, of 95 Main St., Richville, was arrested by Canton police at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday and charged with forgery, possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny.

On Aug. 15, she allegedly forged a check in the amount of $1,700 and cashed it at North Country Savings Bank. She later turned herself in at the Police Department. No information on the owner of the check was available from police.

She is scheduled to appear in Canton Town Court.
