The Knights of Columbus used excellent execution and communication on both sides of the ball to score two wins in recent Kiwanis Soccer action.
KC 4 - Peters Salon 0: In a well played game that featured plenty of unselfish play, Natalie McCormick found the back of the net off a nice lead pass from Greg Mallott to give the KofC the 1-0 lead. In the second quarter Ryle Bressett drilled a shot just inside the post with the assist going to Nick Sholette to produce the 2-0 halftime lead. Sholette found the back of the net in the third quarter off a setup pass from McCormick to push the lead to 3-0. Jake Sharpe rounded out the scoring converting off Mallotts second helper of the game.
Sholette and Darian Snyder combined for eight saves in the net for the KofC, with Snyder cited for an excellent save on a point blank shot to preserve the shutout. Rose Jeneault, Kelsey Sherwin, Juanita Hunter, Anton Skamperle, and Ian Morrow played excellent defense for KofC, and Eve House, Paige LaRock, and Josh Hunter provided consistent offensive pressure all game.
Kyle Trombley and Ethan Baldwin combined for 12 saves in the net for Peters Salon with Jacob Kinney and Jada Smith being cited for excellent two way play..
KC 4 Bradleys Service 1: Through a misty Sunday morning drizzle the KC booters showed great discipline and nice team defense. Hat Trick maker Jake Sharpe, hat trick, opened the scoring with a well placed shot off a feed from Ian Morrow. Cody King split the pipes seven minutes late with the assist going to Natalie McCormick to make it 2-0 at the half.
Sharpe completed the hat trick off a nice give and go from Eve House in the third quarter and followed with another four minutes later from a Nick Sholette helper. Rose Jeneault, Caroline Lalone, Kelsey Sherwin, Juanita Hunter, Anton Skamperle, and Ian Morrow continued to play strong defense for the KofC. Josh Hunter, Paige LaRock, Makayla Lovely, and Anton Skamperle provided excellent two way play from the midfield, to compliment the goaltending of Darian Snyder (4 saves) and Sholette (2 saves).
In the forth quarter Brock Morley scored for Bradleys off a scramble in front of the net. Maddie Howe and Carson Wescott were cited for strong defensive play for Bradleys.
