Watertown police charged Brent N. Monday, 24, of P30 Quarter Master Road, Fort Drum, on Sept. 29 with making a punishable false written statement.

Mr. Monday was accused of filing a statement with police falsely claiming that he had not been involved in an accident on Sept. 28. He will appear in City Court.

In an apparently unrelated incident, Mr. Monday on Sept. 2 was charged with four counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and single counts of reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding and making an unsafe start after allegedly driving his car at four pedestrians on Exchange Street the previous night. They suffered minor injuries but declined treatment, police said.
