Singer-songwriter Shawn Stoddard along with bass guitarist Ross Belovich were among several area musicians who donated their time and talent Sept. 29 at the jamboree for Donna Raymon, a stroke victim, that was held at Ghizes in Ogdensburg.
It was great to see some many people come out and support Donna and her family, said Mr. Stoddard. I was very honored for the invite to play and even more honored to meet Donna in person. She is truly an amazing person.
Activities for the day included food, raffles, an auction, and live music from Mr. Stoddard, Mr. Belovich, Paparazzi Scandal, Five Quarter and Dave Wells. Sound was provided by Todd Brown and Dave Flight. All proceeds raised will help cover medical expenses.
Mr. Stoddard, who is currently ranked No. 1 on the alternative/pop-rock charts at ReverbNation for Ogdensburg played songs from his debut album Further Down that Road, as well as a few cover songs.
Donnas son John told me that All Summer Long by Kid Rock was one of her favorites, said Mr. Stoddard. So Ross and I decided to it would be fun to surprise Donna with that song.
