A Watertown man was ticketed by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies after a car accident early Sunday in the town of Hounsfield.

According to deputies, Jonathan G. Loren, 19, of 17072 Route 3, crashed his vehicle at 2:29 a.m. Sunday after he allegedly did not slow for a 90-degree turn on Fawdrey Road. Instead of turning, deputies said, Mr. Loren ran the 1999 Ford sedan straight over the center line and off the road, stopping only when it hit a tree.

Matthew N. Davies, 15, one of the two passengers in the vehicle, was taken to a hospital after complaining of an injury.

Mr. Loren was charged with traveling at an unreasonable speed, failure to keep right and having a passenger under the age of 16 not wearing a seat belt.
