POTSDAM Valerie L. Jessmer, 22, Potsdam, was arrested by village police at 11:37 p.m. Sunday and charged with criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use, menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt.
Police said that they responded to a domestic dispute at Debra Drive, but that Ms. Jessmer had fled the scene before they arrived.
Ms. Jessmer allegedly threatened her husband with a knife while their child was present. Neither was injured. The husband, whose name was not released by police, holds an order of protection against Ms. Jessmer.
Police searched the area for about three hours before finding and arresting Ms. Jessmer at her apartment.
She was arraigned and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $5,000 bail.
