Knights of Columbus, Defelsko’s win in Kiwanis Soccer


The Knights of Columbus booters continued to play rock solid defense enabling a first quarter marker by Natalie McCormick to hold up for the win over Woodcrest Dairies 1-0. Greg Mallott was credited with the assist on a nice thru ball that sprung McCormick in on goal. Rose Jeneault, Kelsey Sherwin, Caroline Lalone, and Juaninta Hunter continued to anchore the defensive effort with great team work. Jake Sharpe, Paige LaRock, Greg Mallott, and Rylee Bressett worked hard to control the midfield and Makayla Hunter, Cody King, and Eve House provided consistant offensive pressure for the KofC. Nick Sholette and Darian Snyder combined for six saves to preserve the shut out.

Woodcrest was lead by the efforts of strong play from the midfield position and Hope Walker played very well in net, collecting 11 saves for WoodCrest.

DeFelsko 1 - Gray’s Gun Shop 0: Strong goaltending from Ria Amo, Elizabeth Lemke, Justice McIntyre and Ryan Warchol combined with a nice breakout goal from McIntyre lead Defelsko. Orion Wood, Ellie Foster and Sloan Ryan turned in strong two-way play for Defelsko.

For Gray’s Gun Shop, Emily Jordan, Hays Bouchey, Gabby Taylor and Cooper Davidson shared the netminding duties with Taylor Graveline turning in a strong two-way performance.

DeFelsko 3, Bradley’s 3: Cooper Hunter (1 goal) continued his goal streak to four games and Brayden Amo had two goals, both assisted by Jake VanHouse, leading Defelkso’s 10-12 Year Olds. Hope Glover and Shelby Ross had solid defensive games.

Thomas Pratt netted twogoals for Bradley’s while Jordan Sweeney logged a goal. Connor Gasconi played very well in net.
