POTSDAM — A Newton Falls motorcyclist who crashed into a tractor-trailer on Aug. 16 died Sunday at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vt., after spending nearly two months in critical condition.

Ronald L. Swinyer, 50, was injured when he swerved to avoid an oncoming tractor-trailer, which was traveling in the wrong lane in an attempt to pass another illegally parked trailer on Route 72.

Both truck drivers were charged after the incident. Steven Capone, Norwood, was charged with illegal parking, and Jesse J. Ferguson, Potsdam, was charged with speeding and illegal passing.

The funeral for Mr. Swinyer will be Tuesday at French Family Funeral Home at Star Lake.
