GOUVERNEUR E.J. Noble Hospital nurses will hold a candlelight vigil at 3 p.m. Thursday in front of the hospital, 77 W. Barney St., to demonstrate the importance of the work they do and how the community needs the hospital reopened.
The hospital remains closed after the Department of Health suspended operations Sept. 28 when it found numerous violations related to the lab.
We do vital work, Ellen Meilleur, one of 31 registered nurses at the hospital who are represented by the New York State Nurses Association, said in a statement.
We provide excellent care for the residents of the Gouverneur area. We cover the soldiers and families from Fort Drum and the local Amish community too. Were not just a band-aid station. We make a difference in peoples lives.
