The organizing committee of the proposed Thousand Islands Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution met Sept. 19 at the Town of De Kalb Historical Association. The host for the meeting was Town Historian Bryan Thompson, a prospective member of the SAR. Following a tour of the Old Methodist Meeting House and archives, the committee met for lunch at The Club in Canton. New member Mark Friden of Star Lake was inducted into membership. Afterward, the group toured the Silas Wright Museum and genealogical archives of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association. Shown are Mark Friden, Bryan Thompson, Parks Honeywell, Joel Bixby, and Bruce Coyne. (Submitted photo)
