CANTON — James A Regan, 22, of 38 Gouverneur St., was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Friday by state police and charged with criminal contempt and aggravated harassment.

Mr. Regan allegedly made repeated threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend, who holds an order of protection against him. Police did not name the woman.

Mr. Regan was arraigned and sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $1,000 cash bail.
