MORRISTOWN - Lisbon Central School Girls Soccer Coach Scott Richardson was impressed by the improvement made by Morristown in the second meeting between in the two teams in the NAC West season on Saturday morning.
Morristown had us frustrated. They really defended well today, said Richardson after his team won a 3-1 decision after a 9-0 win in their first meeting. Defensively, they have improved a lot and their keeper really played well.
Karissa Bertrand handled 18 shots for Morristown which fell to 0-9 on the season. Bertrand was aided by several good defensive moves by Erica Fishel and Jessica Geddes and strong midfield play from Haley Whitmarsh and Logan Green.
Alex Amo started the scoring in the second half connecting in the 57th minute after taking a feed from Beth Crowley in the middle. Lizabeth Troiano tied the game for Morristown unassisted in the 65th minute.
Maddie Vine connected for the game-winner just a minute later unassisted and Gabby Walker scored an insurance marker in the 77th minute for the Lady Knights (8-2, 7-2 NAC West).
Jackie Sovie supplied five stops for Lisbon in goal.
