Canton girls run well at Burnt Hills

BURT HILLS - The Canton Central Girls Cross Country team continued their fine season placing third with 100 points to to Burnt Hills (66) and North Shore (100) at the Burnt Hils Invitatonal.

The Lady Bears run in Division III race with the largest schools of the day placed ahead of fine teams in Hilton, Bethlehem and Arlington.

Laura Pierce ran sixth in a very fast time of 18:17 and Maria Ricalton was 14th in 18:49. Rebecca DelRossi took 15th in 18:50 and Gemma DelRossi was 19th in 18:56. Rounding the Canton runners were: Lauren Orosz 20:01, Jamie DiSalvo 20:22, Abby Hampson 21:50 and Makenzie Knowlden 22:38. The course is a hilly, but fast 5 km (said to be 3.05 mi.). Canton’s average time was 18:59 (for scorers).

The Malone boys also ran the Division III race and came in third to Arlington and Fairport. Conor Gordan third, Morgan Marlow fourth and Corey Lamere 11th led the way.
