Gambling advocates should be extremely happy about their odds in the north country's state Senate race.
The odds are 100 percent that the person they vote for will support an expansion of non-Native casino gambling in New York.
State Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, said she will vote to approve a constitutional amendment that would set the table for a gambling expansion in New York. She voted for it in 2011 (constitutional amendments need two successive legislators to pass a law, and then a referendum is held among the people).
And Democrat Amy Tresidder, a county legislator of Oswego, said she would also vote to enshrine non-Native casino gambling in the state Constitution.
Both candidates cited the economic development potential of the expansion.
