M-W, H-D win regular season finales


Madrid-Waddington and Hermon-DeKalb won their regular season Girls Soccer finales while Chateaugay completed an undefeated NAC season by controlling Parishville-Hopkinton, 4-2 keyed by two goals from Alexis Beach.

M-W 2, Gouverneur 1: Taylor Lenney figured in both Yellowjacket goals in a non-division win at Gouverneur. Lenney opened scoring in the first half from Tessa Knight and Kaleigh Field and assisted on Blake Orosz’s game-winner with six minutes to play in regulation.

Rachel Knowlton scored Gouverneur’s lone goal from Jessica Parker breaking Emily Doegler’s shutout with five minutes to play. Doegler made seven saves including a big stop in the first half to secure the lead for 8-3-2 M-W.

Taylor Andrews had just one save for Gouverneur (3-7-4).


Hermon-DeKalb 2, Edwards-Knox 1: Kasey O’Donnell scored from Clarissa Davis with six minutes to play to break the 1-1 tie for the visiting Demons (9-7, 7-7 NAC West) who edged the Cougars (3-13, 3-11 NAC West).

O’Donnell scored from Sadie Smith in the 47th but E-K roared back to tie the game in the 71st when Harleigh LaBarge scored from Dakotah Bacon.

Chelsey MacKay had three saves for H-D andJadilynn Bullock stopped three shots for E-K.
