CANTON — Two St. Lawrence County jail inmates from Gouverneur were charged by state police Wednesday morning with possessing dangerous contraband.

Police said Peter S. Blackford, 31, was found in possession of heroin, and Jugo Gomez, 23, had a handmade knife.

Both have been arraigned and are in jail awaiting court appearances.
