The launch of the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce Ogtoberfest last month was a success, and the event will be back next year and likely will become annual.

Chamber Executive Director Sandra M. Porter said the Oct. 6 outdoor celebration of food, drink, music and children’s games in the Greenbelt was a well-attended, enthusiastically received hit.

The event also turned a profit of slightly more than $1,200. Hosmer’s Marina contributed $500 to the bottom line. That sum was 75 percent of its profit from its Ogtoberfest beer tent.
