HAMMOND – St. Lawrence County Planning Office officials will present the community with its comprehensive plan today.
Facilitated by county Planning Office staff, the presentation will provide residents with copies and an overview of the plan.
County officials hope the comprehensive community development plan will foster economic growth.
The plan was compiled based on input from the Town Council, village Board of Trustees and residents through a series of public meetings.
This is over a year in the making, said Town Supervisor Ronald W. Bertram.
The plan will highlight ways the community can improve Hammonds existing resources, according to Planning Office Deputy Director Jason C. Pfotenhauer.
At the meeting, residents will also have another opportunity to comment on Hammonds 2013 budget.
We decided to extend the budget hearing process to give residents another opportunity to ask questions, said Mr. Bertram.
The meeting will be held today at 7:15 p.m. at the Hammond Free Library, 17 Main St.
For more information, contact Mr. Bertram at 324-5321, Mayor Shelly Youngs at 783-4209 or Mr. Pfotenhauer at 379-2292.
