CANTON - Shawn L. McGregor, 36, of 41 Grantville Road, Norfolk, was charged with issuing a bad check by state police at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. McGregor allegedly passed a bad $84 check at Kunoco Food Mart. Mr. McGregor is an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, where he was sent for violating his parole.

He was sentenced to five extra days in jail for passing the bad check.
