Eleanor Nelson Clark, 92, of Oswego, formerly of Fulton died Wednesday. She was born January 7, 1920 in St. Regis Falls, NY, a daughter to the late Harry B. and Pearl Nelson. Eleanor was a graduate of Potsdam State University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Her career as an elementary school teacher began at the Potsdam Norman School as a Master Teacher specializing in reading. She then taught in Fort Covington, NY, the Conifer Union School in Conifer, NY, the Fulton School District and retired from Phoenix Central Schools in 1981. Eleanor was a member of the Fulton Reading Circle, Fulton Women’s Club, the 1909 Shakespeare Club, the Oswego Valley Quilt Guild and the Fulton Historical Society. She was a member of the Fulton First United Methodist Church. Eleanor was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Glenn W. Clark of Bishop’s Commons, Oswego; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Barbara Clark of New Bern, N.C.; daughter, Susan C. Miller of Morristown, N.J.; grandson, Tyler M. (Gillian) Clark of Midlothian, VA; granddaughter, Amanda C. (Dr. Daniel) Champey of New Bern, N.C. and four great grandchildren, Declan R., Brycen E., Carter W. and Anna Barbara Champey. A calling hour will be held 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 with services to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
