POTSDAM — Three Malone residents were charged with petit larceny by state police at 4:25 p.m. Thursday.

Jayleen A. Charles, 40, of 12 Branch St.; Ann M. Cook, 48, and Carl D. Shattuck, 45, both of 108 College Ave., are accused of attempting to steal merchandise valued at $547.01 from Walmart, Route 11.

They are scheduled to appear in Potsdam Town Court.
