ADAMS — The village’s restoration of the G.L. Thomas & Sons Feed Mill and Laramie Tire site received the 2012 Environmental Project of the Year award Thursday from the Central New York Branch of the American Public Works Association.

The vacant site on North Main Street is now used for parking by the village Fire Department. The former feed mill and repair shop were demolished in 2008.

Mayor Patricia C. Sweetland said the village received a certificate of completion for its cleanup work from the state Department of Environmental Conservation in July. She said Adams received the regional APWA award in 1999 and 2006.
