An Adams man was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to five years’ probation for illegally providing another person with a prescription drug.

John M. Merideth, 33, address not available, was also sentenced to an unspecified amount of time served at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building for a Sept. 21 guilty plea to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He admitted that on July 19 he gave or sold Lorcet, a brand name for hydrocodone, to another person in Adams.

In other court activity:

Kyle R. McConnell, 25, of 35559 County Route 136, Theresa, was sentenced to three years’ probation and fined $750 for a Sept. 19 guilty plea to driving while intoxicated as a misdemeanor.

He admitted to driving while intoxicated April 8 on Route 11 in the town of Philadelphia. He was also sentenced to a weekend in the PSB, had his driver’s license revoked and was ordered to install an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates.

Nicholas A. Peschler, 23, of 24 Riverview Road, Pulaski, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He admitted that, with others, he damaged a vending machine at Precision Car Wash on Route 11 in the town of Watertown and stole coins from it in August 2009.

He was subsequently sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and was ordered to pay $534, his share of restitution.

Shannon T. Nguyen, 23, Plessis, pleaded guilty to third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He admitted that on June 28 he struck Edward Roberts with a baseball bat, injuring him, in the town of Alexandria and that on the same day he damaged a motor vehicle that did not belong to him.

He is expected to be sentenced Jan. 22 to no worse than three years’ probation.
