Final plans are being made for the free community Thanksgiving dinner at the Msgr. A. D. Charbonneau Council 258 Knights of Columbus Club Rooms, 721 Hasbrouck St., Ogdensburg.

Dinner goes from noon until all are served, and the doors open at 11:30 a.m. Knights and other community volunteers are needed to provide transportation to the event.

If you can offer your services as a volunteer driver or server, please call the Knights at 393-7990.

Please make reservations for sit-down meals to provide an accurate head count so volunteers may prepare enough food. No names need to be given.

To make reservations and to arrange for transportation, if needed, call the Knights Hall at 393-7990 after 4 p.m. any day. “Deliveries will made to shut-ins only, as the focus of the day is community spirit and friends getting together at the club rooms,” said Grand Knights Nelson J. Woods.“We encourage everyone to come to the hall and share this festive day with friends and neighbors.”

Volunteers are also appreciated on Thanksgiving Day to help serve.

Monetary donations and donations of food, such as canned cranberries and stuffing, are also most appreciated. Mail checks to the Knights of Columbus Thanksgiving Dinner at 721 Hasbrouck St., Ogdensburg, N.Y., 13669, Attn: PGK Harry Lucchetti. Food donations may be dropped off between 4 and 8 p.m.

Donations of desserts are also most welcome and should be dropped off at the Club Rooms the night before or the morning of Thanksgiving.

In Morristown, the community Thanksgiving dinner will open with a noon social hour at the Fire Hall.

Dinner will be served starting at 1 p.m. Organizers are accepting donations for the Hammond, Brier Hill and Morristown food pantires, and the annual children’s Christmas parties sponsored by the Morristown and Brier Hill volunteer fire departments.

Anyone who needs a ride to the dinner may call 375-4442 or 375-8211. Meals will be delivered to those who can’t leave their homes.
