The commander of Fort Hood, Lt. Gen. Donald M. Campbell Jr., will step down at a change-of-command ceremony on Nov. 28, prior to the planned arrival of Fort Drum commanding general Maj. Gen. Mark A. Milley.
Gen. Milley was nominated by President Barack Obama for a promotion to lieutenant general and to lead the installation and its III Corps on Nov. 15. His nomination must be confirmed by the Senate. Lt. Gen. Campbell was confirmed earlier this year to lead U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.
