The Jefferson County Board of Legislators has appointed Margaret L. “Peggy” Murray, daughter-in-law of the late Douglas L. Murray, to fill his unexpired term on the board of the Development Authority of the North Country.

Mrs. Murray, who is a co-owner of the family’s Murcrest Farm in Copenhagen, will serve a term that ends Dec. 31, 2015. She also is a farm business management educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis County.

Mr. Murray, 83, died in August in a farm accident.
