AKWESASNE - With the 2012 racing season long over, preparation for the upcoming 2013 season is underway at Mohawk International Raceway.

Much of next year’s schedule will go unchanged, with racing every Friday night from May to September. The starting time of each show will return to 7:30p.m. as it was during the last part of 2012 and the track plans to speed up the show to get people out of the track at a decent time.

Mohawk will run four weekly divisions in 2012 with the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Mod Lites and Bandits filling our regular lineup. Other special events will be added before our schedule is released over the new two or three months. It was a tough decision to drop the Pro Stock division after they have been with us for so many years, but with the drop in car counts recently, and wanting to speed up our program we had to make the hard decision.

The Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” Series as well as the Frenchie’s Ford “Drive One” Sportsman Series will return once again next season. The St. Lawrence Seaway Sportsman Series that made its debut this season will also return once again in 2013. The Sportsman class seems to be on the rise with several area teams moving into the division.

In just a few short months, Mohawk Raceway will be back in action for another exciting season. Stay tuned to our website below for any off-season news. We look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet in the spring, and back at the track next May for our season opener. Stay tuned to our website early in the New Year for details on banquet date and location.
