Rensselaer Falls men charged in pistol theft

CANTON — Two Rensselaer Falls men face charges in connection with the theft of a pistol from a Todd Road home earlier this month, St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Richard H. Martin III, 18, of 30 East St., was charged with second degree burglary and fourth degree grand larceny for entering the Garrison Barcomb residence and stealing a revolver, deputies said.

Justin R. Butler, 22, of 681 County Route 14 was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property for being in possession of the stolen revolver, which has been recovered, deputies said.

Mr. Martin was arraigned before Lisbon Town Justice Phillip D. Fonda and jailed in lieu of $3,000 cash bail. Mr. Butler was arraigned before Canton Town Justice Cathleen E. O’Horo and jailed in lieu of $1,500 cash bail.
