St. Lawrence grand jury indicts two in DWI cases

CANTON — A St. Lawrence County grand jury on Thursday returned indictments against two county residents in separate DWI cases.

Jeremy J. Allen, 31, 156 St. Lawrence Ave., Waddington, faces one count of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of driving while intoxicated.

Mr. Allen allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent while operating a 1967 Chevrolet on Oak Street on Aug. 5 after his operating privileges had been revoked.

Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more constitutes intoxication.

Robert L. Murphy, 54, 702 Main St., Morristown, faces two counts of driving while intoxicated. Troopers said he was not injured when he crashed his 2000 Chevrolet on Haggert Road on Aug. 7 in the town of Oswegatchie. His blood alcohol content allegedly was 0.16 percent.

Mr. Murphy was charged with a felony because he had a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years, having been convicted in 2005, according to the indictment.
