n Gibbons’ former Carthage teammate, Jolyon Davis, has helped unbeaten and seventh-ranked Hobart College gain a spot in the NCAA Division III quarterfinals for the first time in school history.

A 6-0, 190-pound junior free safety, Davis recorded four tackles last week as Hobart defeated Wittenberg, 35-10. He also had four solo tackles in the 38-20 first-round win over Washington & Lee.

Hobart (12-0) plays a 1 p.m. quarterfinal Saturday at No. 4 St. Thomas, Minn. (12-0).
