MASSENA - An article in Tuesdays paper about Massena Mayor James F. Hidy mistakenly stated the mayor limited village resident R. Shawn Gray to a little over three minutes to speak during a public comment period.
Mr. Grays comments were made during a special topic session Mr. Hidy said he allowed following presentations by county legislators Gregory M. Paquin, D-Massena, and Jonathan S. Putney, D-Waddington. Public comment during topic sessions may be allowed at the discretion of the moderator, who is not obligated by law to allow comment, Mr. Hidy said.
This comment period was in addition to the traditional five-minute comment periods at the opening and closing of the meeting.
That was not the public comment period, and everyone got that as well, Mr. Hidy said.
