Cape Vincent- Samuel V. Carollo, 64, of Market St. Cape Vincent, passed away early Thursday morning November 29, 2012 at home. Sam was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and his loving wife, Sally Carollo. Sam and Sally were united in marriage August 22, 1992.

Sam had retired from the Cape Vincent Correctional Facility as a Vocational Instructor for the Horticultural Department. Sam’s love for gardening was evident by the home Sam and Sally shared. Sam and Sally also enjoyed the canning of their hot peppers (“SAL-T-SAMS”).

Surviving is his wife Sally, Cape Vincent; three sons, Robert and Ronald both of Rome, NY and Samuel, Texas; two step sons, Steven Mothersell, Kingston, Ontario, Canada and SMS Willie Mothersell, Eagle River, Alaska; a brother Joseph F. Carollo III, Rome, NY.

In a join decision, Sam and Sally have chosen not to have any services at this time. Sam and Sally would like to say thank you to their wonderful family and terrific friends along with the Medical Staff of Hospice. They know that these last few months of support from everyone involved has been an amazing blessing.

Donations may be given in his memory to the Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St. Watertown, N.Y. 13601. Arrangements are with the Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent.
