DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Ryan J. Whitehouse, 22, of Troy wth driving while intoxicated and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle at 1:35 a.m. Sunday at Clarkson University. Police said they were contacted by Clarkson University Security requesting assistance with a subject who had stolen a university maintenance truck and was failing to comply with security officers. Patrol responded, and Whitehouse was taken into custody. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.14 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher constitutes a DWI charge.



DISORDERLY CONDUCT - POTSDAM - Village police charged Simon C. Lyon, 19, of Bennington, Vt., and Timothy C. Shepardson, 19, of Syracuse with disorderly conduct at 4:13a.m. Sunday on Market Street. Police said they responded to a report of two males tampering with a “No Parking” sign on Market Street and removing it from the ground. The two men were released on appearance tickets.



BENCH WARRANT - POTSDAM - Village police picked up Virginia L. Moses, 30, of Norwood on a bench warrant at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the Potsdam police station. The warrant had been issued by the village court in February after Moses failed to pay fines and surcharges. She was arraigned by Potsdam Village Justice Nicholas Pignone and released.



STOP SIGN - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Rachel K. Cruz, 22, of Potsdamfor failing to stop at a stop sign on Missouri Avenue at 7:32 p.m. Sunday.

0052 Patrol observed a naked male engaged in disorderly conduct on Fall Island who was ultimately transported to CPH. Charges pending further investigation.

0128 Received report from Clarkson University Security of a stolen maintenance truck from campus with the operator failing to comply with security officers. Truck located. Charges filed.

0130 Received larceny report from McDuff’s bar on Market Street. Investigation continues.

0233 Received request for a welfare check of village resident. Patrol responded and contact was made.

0234 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call for LifeNet.

0236 Received report of two male subjects behaving disorderly at McDonald’s. Patrol responded but suspects were gone upon arrival.

0244 Noise complaint on Market Street. Patrol responded.

0305 Patrol and Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a rescue call on Market Street.

0413 Received report of two male subjects tampering with street signs on Market Street. Patrol responded and located suspects who were charged.

0429 Canton-Potsdam Hospital contacts PPD reporting an irate patient in the emergency room. Patrol responded.

0658 Burglary alarm at local business located on Elm Street. Patrol responded.

1201 Property damage accident reported. Victim reports the other party left the scene, and she just found damage to her car.

1210 Compound bow stored for Clarkson student.

1242 Equipment inspection done for NYSP summons returnable to Gouverneur Town Court.

1248 Burglary reported by sorority member at 45 Bay St. Patrol dispatched to investigate.

1428 Patrols and PVRS dispatched to Clarkson University dorm for students who may have overdosed and are behaving in a violent manner.

1540 Received civil complaint of property being withheld from the owner.

1737 Subject came to the police department to report his vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver sometime between 9:30 p.m. last evening and when he discovered it earlier this afternoon. Accident report completed.

1932 Traffic stop on Missouri Avenue. Ticket issued.
