MONTAGUE A Lowville man was injured when he hit a deer with his all-terrain vehicle at 8:15 p.m. Sunday on Sears Pond Road in the town of Montague.
Lewis County sheriffs deputies said Lawrence R. Bacon, 53, Rector Road, was driving north on a 2012 Honda four-wheeler when he hit a deer, causing the machine to flip over on him.
He was taken to Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, for treatment of unspecified injuries, then transferred to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.
Mr. Bacon was listed in fair condition Monday morning.
Lewis County Search and Rescue and state police assisted at the scene.
